Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced that the Department of Transportation has launched an investigation into Delta Air Lines following the recent tech outage that caused disruptions to flights worldwide. The aim of the investigation is to ensure that Delta is complying with passenger protection requirements and taking care of its passengers during these widespread disruptions. Buttigieg emphasized that all airline passengers have the right to be treated fairly and encouraged them to try resolving their issues directly with Delta. The Department of Transportation is specifically interested in hearing from passengers who believe Delta has not complied with protection requirements during the disruptions. Delta had also prohibited unaccompanied minors from traveling until the situation was resolved.
